The Bible Verse Challenge winners went shopping for their prizes this week! At first, we were trying to decide the best prize for them. We wanted something special – they spent so much time memorizing 36 Bible Verses! The hard part was knowing what they needed/wanted. Then, we had the idea that we give them a budget, take them shopping to a local department store and let them choose any prize they wanted… It says a lot that each woman chose very basic and practical items for their families. New sandals, a rice cooker, a backpack for their husband, a fan, a plastic container to hold their utensils or plates to protect them from mice, cockroaches and other bugs… Thank you for those who partner with us to help reach families and see lives transformed by the Word of God.
Our Mabuhay Women’s theme for Christmas was John 8:12. We read Mathew 2:1-12 seeing how the Wise Men followed the star to seek Jesus. Today, we too should seek Jesus with our whole hearts. Our activity was making Christmas Parol’s with basic items at home. The parol is a Filipino Christmas lantern that is beautifully decorated.
It’s almost December and our Women’s Ministry is preparing for our annual Bible Verse Challenge ! We challenge the women to memorize the 12 Bible verses from our monthly services this year. God’s Word is powerful! Committing His Word to memory is a great way to help people. When the challenges of life come, they have God’s Word in their heart.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support and pray for our ministry. We are truly blessed to know you are with us!Our team was able to go house to house this week to visit the kids and give them their Bible Verse Page and Devotions Booklet for the month. The kids still need to remain at their houses and will be able to submit their answers to us online.
Our Women’s Ministry focus this month is prayer. As a craft we made Prayer Jars. Each found an empty container or jar in their home and decorated it using items they had. We then wrote out things we can pray for and put them in the jars. They are simple prompts that can be used during prayer times. Colossians 4:2 “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” (Maging matiyaga kayo sa pananalangin, laging handa at nagpapasalamat sa Diyos. Colosas 4:2)
