Our ministry is in several locations of a densely populated slum. A few days ago there was a fire that burned about 50 homes and miraculously no one died! Kids were napping while other parents were out getting their other kids from school.
Everyone rushed to save every one and in their rush, lost every material possession but have what is most cherished, each other.
Temporarily the parents with their children are sleeping in the basketball court where we normally have our services. We will be helping to asses their immediate needs and see what we are able to do. Most of the kids need school uniforms or backpacks and school supplies as well as food.
Whatever we can do, it’s an opportunity to let them know God cares for and loves them. Pray for these families as they need direction and wisdom and provision about their next steps to recover.
